Visions of what is possible in teacher educationor lost in complexity?

The article discusses some of the insights we have gained while looking at ways in which computer-mediated communication can help bridge different and often separate fields of practice, school, and university, and offer learning experiences for pre-service and in-service teachers alike.
By referring to our experiences with various strategies for re-designing foreign-language-teacher education through seminars that we are offering in a joint research project at the University of Giessen and the University of Education in Freiburg, we explore ways in which co-operative contexts of participation can be created and sustained.
