Talking shop: Roger Bowers in conversation with Costas Markou

Costas Markou

Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education and Culture, Cyprus, with responsibility for English and also German in the school sector. A regular contributor to Council of Europe programmes and workshops, Costas has been Chair of IATEFL in Cyprus. He is currently facilitating a bicommunal curriculum development project, supported by the Fulbright Commission. With a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from Reading University, Costas has also recently completed work for a Master's in Educational Management at Nottingham University, for which he has been conducting research into teacher appraisal.

Roger Bowers talks to Costas Markou, the Chief Education Officer for the Ministry of Education in Cyprus, about ‘co-operative education’, and his personal history as learner, teacher, trainer, inspector, and administrator.
